Mondstadt – The City of Freedom

Mondstadt is a vibrant, open region in the northeast of Teyvat. Known as the “City of the Winds,” it is a land defined by freedom, music, and open skies. It was once part of the ancient nation of Khaenri’ah, though it avoided destruction during the Cataclysm. Today, it thrives as a free city under the protection of the Anemo Archon, Barbatos (Venti).

Mondstadt is a region of wide plains, rolling hills, rivers, and gentle breezes. Its varied landscape offers plenty for adventurers to explore:

  • City of Mondstadt: The capital city with cobblestone streets, taverns like the Angel’s Share, the Cathedral of Favonius, and residential areas.

  • Starfell Valley: Fertile farmland and vineyards, including Mondstadt’s famous Dandelion Wine orchards.

  • Windwail Highland: Known for gliding challenges and breathtaking vistas.

  • Stormbearer Mountains: Steep cliffs with challenging enemies and treasure domains.

  • Dragonspine: A snow-covered mountain in the south, filled with hidden relics, puzzles, and powerful monsters.

    • Mondstadt’s history is intertwined with Khaenri’ah, a godless nation destroyed 500 years ago by the gods. Mondstadt, however, was spared and grew independently.

    • The region worships Barbatos, the Anemo Archon, who once fought in battles to protect the city but now encourages freedom and self-expression rather than strict control.

    • The people of Mondstadt are inspired by legends, music, and art, reflecting a society that values joy, liberty, and creativity.

    • Ancient ruins, like the Temple of the Falcon and scattered domains, hint at Mondstadt’s connection to older civilizations and lingering mysteries of Teyvat’s past.

      • Citizens cherish freedom and individuality, often celebrating life through music, festivals, and wine.

      • Festivals like the Windblume Festival honor the winds and the joy of life, featuring games, performances, and storytelling.

      • Knights of Favonius maintain peace but do not impose harsh rules—they serve the people and safeguard freedom.

      • Music is central to daily life; bards like Venti inspire and uplift the community.
