You begin the game with a cinematic cutscene showing the Traveler and their twin sibling drifting between worlds. Suddenly, a mysterious woman appears—she calls herself the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles.
She stops the twins from traveling any further and declares:
“Your journey ends here.”
A battle begins, but the Traveler cannot win.
The Sustainer overwhelms the twins with cubes of light.
She separates you from your sibling, trapping one of you in a glowing cage and pulling the other into a fall through space.
After the fall, you awaken alone on a beach in Teyvat.
Beside you is Paimon, the small floating companion you rescued earlier.
Paimon becomes your guide, helping you search for your lost twin while you explore this strange new world full of elemental powers, gods, and ancient conflicts.
